This Diploma in English Language Teaching – (DELT) Course is conducted by the Institute of Official Languages and Professional Studies (IOLPS) to produce a generation of competent teachers who can be employed as teachers/Instructors. The main objective of this is to contribute qualified English language teachers to the country. Students pursuing this Diploma course should engage in 12 month theoretical lectures and exercises and also 6 month actively engage in practical exercises and assignments. The Students will learn to teach the English language utilizing their own skills and self-creation in order to motivate the students to learn the language. The course fully covers the syllabus of NVQ Level 5. The Diploma holders who complete this course will be qualified to enter to the University of Vocational Technology for higher studies. Those who qualify with NVQ level 5 English qualification are entitled to face the placement test held by UNIVOTEC and to be qualified for university entrance. Further, those who complete this course could work as par time instructors in the IOLPLS or any other Government / private sector institutions.
